Chapter Meetings

Chapter meetings are generally held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month during lunch (11:30-1:30) in various locations around the Greater Los Angeles area.  Other events are held on a regular basis – dates and times vary so be sure to check out our calendar of events page!

We hope you will join us for our Annual Awards Dinner and Silent Auction! We will be swearing in the 2018-19 Board of Directors, and presenting awards to members who went above and beyond in their efforts to promote the Chapter and RIM industry! 

Plus, don't forget about the Silent Auction! Instead of money, use ARMA "Bucks" to bid on items! There are many ways you can earn Bucks, such as attending an ARMA event, renewing your membership, and earning the CRM or IGP certification. The instructions and form are downloadable here on the event listing page.

Past auctions have included gift cards to stores like Macy's and Trader Joe's, bicycles, movie memorabilia, wine, and so much more! If you, your company, or one of your favorite vendors would like to donate an item for our silent auction, please let us know by emailing Danna Schacter at technology@arma-gla.org.

STEVE GRAY managed Central Records for World Vision’s International Global Centre LA offices located in Monrovia, California.  His primary responsibility was managing information used for reference, statue, or organizational history purposes.  Steve was a member of the Knowledge Management unit within the Evidence and Learning group.  The Knowledge Management group continues to bring together the people, processes, and technology to enabling World Vision to change data into information, information to knowledge, and knowledge into learning and application.     


World Vision is an international Christian humanitarian organization supporting projects in 95 nations.  The organization assists the poor in sustainable community based development focusing especially on the needs of children.

Recently retired after 46 years with World Vision, Steve held a variety of positions with the  organization between 1971 and 1988.  In the summer of 1988, he became responsible for Central Records.  In 1993 he received the “Outstanding Performance Award” for the office in Monrovia.

Steve received his formal education at Point Loma Nazarene University and later additional courses at Citrus College and the Caltech Industrial Relations Center.

Active in ARMA since 1988, he held several chapter board positions including two terms as president with the Southern California Inland Empire Chapter.  He was selected Chapter Member of the Year in both 1991 and 1994.  Steve is currently active within his home chapter as Chapter Historian.  SCIE ARMA honored him as Chapter Star Number Two during the chapter’s 30th anniversary celebration.

Steve served the ARMA Pacific Region as a Region Coordinator and Region Manager.  In 2005 he was the second Region Leader inducted into the Pacific Region Stars Hall of Fame.

Steve served three years on ARMA International’s Board of Directors.  His association involvements included: the Awards Committee, the Communication Advisory Committee, Branding Task Force, Leadership Task Force, Chair of the Leadership Development and Training Committee, and Election Management Task Force.  He championed Self-assessment and Conflict of Interest initiatives while on the ARMA Board of Directors.  And he led efforts in creating and implementing the chapter grants/scholarship program.

Over the last twenty-nine years, Steve has spoken at numerous chapters and region leadership conferences.  He led interactive sessions on diversity and culture at three ARMA Annual Conferences.
